Salute her when her birthday comes.

Saturday night we ventured into Mississauga to celebrate our girlfriend Carol's 50th birthay, it was a big party! And lots of fun. Their family and friends are amazing, we had a really good time, lots of laughs, lots of invitations to cottages, and lots of beer for Rick :-) The drive home was a little scarey, slippery roads and I was really tired. Driving slow made for a long trip.

Workin' Womans Blues

I can't believe a whole week has passed since I posted here. I'm going to have to keep this more current!

Last week was a big blur. I worked long hours each day in order to finish a complicated file before my client went on vacation. I got it finished though :-)

Friday night Rick and I watched The Guardian with Kevin Costner, it was really good. Kind of a guy flick, but good. Saturday I had some errands to run, this working all week sure messed me up! I usually do errands during the week.

Sunday I ventured back into Mississauga for a committee meeting regarding the Scrappin' Cabin event I go to twice a year. We decided last November to create a committee (well Barb did!) and this was our first meeting. We couldn't get a word in edgewise, we all had alot of ideas and great ones too! We've all left with some homework or assigned duties and plan to meet again in March. Should be fun!

All the owners of the scrapbook stores are in California right now at the Craft and Hobby show, the largest in the world. The Scrapbooking vendors have taken over most of the floor, and it's really really big. The ladies I know who are there have to pick and choose what they want to see because there is no way they can see it all. I'm really excited to see all the new products in person. We've seen sneak peeks online but that doesn't do most of the products justice. Lord have mercy on my bank account!

I'll make a point of dropping in and posting more often, last week just flew by.

Have a wonderful evening!

Winterlude, it's makin' me lazy

This weekend was a bit unusual but I enjoyed it. We had plans of my sister-in-law visiting for the weekend but those plans were postponed when we learned she was sick with the flu and a headcold. So here I was faced with a weekend with no plans, something I haven't had in five years! Or as long as I can remember. Friday night I cuddled up with a blanket, lit a fire in the fireplace and read magazines. I'm way overdue with that so it felt great.

Saturday my sister-in-law and niece decided to come out for the day. The visit went by very fast but it was very nice. It was great to see both of them.

On Sunday, Rick and I went to the matinee to see The Queen, the movie was ok but I was intrigued by the acting, Helen Mirren was amazing. I've got plans to go see Dream Girls tomorrow with two girlfriends. I like to see some of the movies that are up for awards :-)

Tonight Rick watched Prison Break and fell asleep within moments of it ending...he is snoring louder than the tv right now.

On that snoring note, I'm off!

The wind it was howlin' and the snow was outrageous

Today was a snow day! We got over a foot of snow. It was really coming down, I couldn't see the house across the street off and on all day. I got some pictures of Rick snowblowing the driveway, he looks like the abdominal snowman! If I can figure out how to include photos in a post, I'll come back and add them here.

I cleaned up the kitchen, well the pile of papers that gathers and was a foot or so deep today, put recipes away and sorted out coupons. Did the laundry, you know, the ususal housework. We had spaghetti and meat balls for dinner and then off to relax. I had a fire going all day, decided not to plop in front of the tv tonight but instead enjoy the fire with a blanket and magazine, candles burning everywhere.

We're having company tomorrow for the day, my niece and sisterinlaw are coming out for a visit. It will be my sisterinlaws first time here! Rick has to work in the morning but shouldn't be too late to miss the fun. Hope the roads are ok to travel on tomorrow.

Cya!

The Times They Are A-Changin'

I might have my page how I like it now! I go to sleep thinking about what to put on it. I'm learning as I go, teaching myself. It's a work in progress at the moment. I have great ideas to implement.

I worked today and Rick came home early again. He isn't getting many hours and isn't that happy about it. With help from a business associate of mine, we have a lead on a new position for Rick at a larger company where he feels confident he'll get at least full weeks work. We're not sure how it will pan out just yet, but are very excited. His resume is sent off.

Well, it's back to creating by blog, thanks for dropping in :-)

Some are building monuments

Well I've finally decided to start a blog. I was so fortunate to receive a state of the art laptop for my 50th birthday (thank you again, everyone!!) and that makes this project doable now. Before this I couldn't wait to get away from my computer and my desk where I already would spend all day. I thought this would be a good way for my friends and family to check in and see what I'm up to and what is going on around me. I hope to build and make this a better and better blog and that you'll stop by often. Bookmark this page :-)
